Krishna has been a pivotal influence on Art in India. Art has been deeply influenced and inspired by this iconic personality, not just in the context of youthfulness or playfulness, but also as the promoter of spiritual thought, universal love and tolerance. It is fascinating to note that every period of Krishna’s life has inspired a multitude of art forms. Aura Art is delighted to return to Ahmedabad with a first-of-its-kind exhibition “Krishna – The Infinite”. A catalogue of the show is attached. This Show has close to 100 choicest works of nearly 50 artists – many of whom have worked on the subject – of the different forms of Krishna – for the first time or have rarely displayed these works. Besides this show straddles the entire timeline of Indian art – from traditional and tribal art to modern and then post modern, before settling on contemporary depictions and representations of Lord Krishna. The artistic temperament of the artists in this collection has tried to portray the social or the romantic aspects of Krishna as a phenomenon, yet it is pertinent to note that Krishna is not just a human Avatar on earth, but an embodiment of the true power of the blend of Godliness within and absolute human potential, which has been unleashed and directed to make the world a better place for one and all. Krishna is and will always remain the unparalleled Infinite as one could relate to him at any stage in life and derive wisdom to better their own lives. This is a first in a series of shows on Lord Krishna, by Aura Art. May He continue to shower His Grace on all of us.
